Looking for a reduced fee Broker in SLO (San Luis Obispo) County? Most Brokers charge 5% or even 6% total fee to sell your home. Our opinion is that a reduced 4% total fee is a fair percentage to be split between the buyers and sellers agent. 

What is a reduced fee for a Broker in SLO?

The “going rate” for commission fees in SLO County is 5% on average. Most Brokers will negotiate 2.5% to the sellers agent, and 2.5% to the buyers agent. Some Brokers offer a variable split where 3% goes to the sellers agent, and 2% goes to the buyers. Some realtors even charge their clients 6% total commission on the sale of their property. Very few Brokers will agree to a 4% reduced fee in SLO County.

Why do SLO Brokers charge more than a 4% fee?

In real estate, everything is negotiable. This includes what your real estate broker will offer to charge you in exchange for their services. Some Realtors include more work or services in their offering (i.e photos, open houses, paid marketing, etc.) Some brokerages have minimum fees they require agents to list at. Many ask for more because they promise higher purchase prices, or a more premium service. Though every property is unique and some are “easier to sell”. We feel that a total 4% reduced fee for a broker in SLO County is more than fair.
